Project Summary

Summary of scope:

The new center will accommodate the relocation of the San Jacinto Center at the School of Social Work (SSW) and continue to serve current UT Austin students, faculty, and staff. It will be a stand-alone facility that will accommodate 200 children. The building will include 16,000 square feet, accommodate 14 classrooms and four playgrounds, and will include a dedicated entrance separate from the Comal CDC, which is key to maintaining a smaller community feel within each center. Scope includes all related site improvements and utilities.

Project location:

This project is located at the corner of Manor Rd and Leona Street, just east of the existing Comal Child Development Center.

Major anticipated outcomes/benefits/ of the completed project:

The Leona Child Development Center will provide a quality childcare program that nurtures each child’s growth and education in a stimulating and caring learning environment
